{"id":415,"date":"2020-11-02T19:46:18","date_gmt":"2020-11-03T03:46:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/?p=415"},"modified":"2020-11-02T19:46:18","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T03:46:18","slug":"gavin-newsom-shows-himself-to-be-a-hypocrite-on-fracking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/?p=415","title":{"rendered":"Gavin Newsom shows himself to be a hypocrite on fracking!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In case you somehow thought Newsom was not a hypocrite! <em>The Sun<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/sjvsun.com\/business\/what-the-frack-valley-company-scores-fracking-permits-despite-newsom-tough-talk\/\">writes<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>While these latest permits were awarded in the heat of the 2020 election cycle, CalGEM previously awarded permits on June 1 \u2013 shortly after the death of George Floyd \u2013 as well as around the Fourth of July and Memorial Day weekends and in early April as the COVID-19 lockdowns were first issued.\u00a0<\/p><p>In looking at the first half of 2020, Newsom has issued 190 permits more permits than the first six months of last year, according to studies from fracking opponents.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201cThe Governor has expressed his commitment to work with the legislature to change state law to prohibit the practice of hydraulic fracturing by 2024,\u201d Uduak-Joe Ntuk, State Oil &amp; Gas Supervisor for CalGEM, told nonprofit publication Capitol &amp; Main.<\/p><p>\u201cFor the remaining time that hydraulic fracturing is expressly permitted under state law, CalGEM\u2019s process for reviewing permits for the practice continues to be the strongest in the country.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In case you somehow thought Newsom was not a hypocrite!
