{"id":267,"date":"2017-11-11T09:56:26","date_gmt":"2017-11-11T17:56:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com.previewc40.carrierzone.com\/?p=267"},"modified":"2017-11-11T09:56:26","modified_gmt":"2017-11-11T17:56:26","slug":"gavin-newsom-offers-bold-leadership-or-so-he-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/?p=267","title":{"rendered":"Gavin Newsom offers bold leadership (or so he says)!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/politics\/article\/Newsom-vows-audacious-goals-if-elected-12346239.php#photo-14524113\">a recent article on SFGATE, <\/a>Gavin Newsom has &#8220;the support of 31 percent of registered voters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is hardly a mandate, as so many people neither register nor vote.<\/p>\n<p>While equally-vapid and corporate interest-obsequious Villaraigosa &#8220;has support from about two-thirds of the state\u2019s Latino voters&#8221;, he has done little to deserve this support.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On high-speed rail, one of the governor\u2019s signature issues, Newsom argued that while he supported the original plan, he has real concerns with the proposed rail system as it\u2019s now proposed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Newsom simply is not giving any hint of what his views are on the disastrous imbroglio that is &#8220;high speed&#8221; rail.<\/p>\n<p>Not only is this unlikely to ever get built (given the protests from wealthy landowners). it will also be extremely expensive.<\/p>\n<p>What is needed instead is socialized, subsidized service that will allow people to travel at affordable rates around the states, with frequent service.<\/p>\n<p>Providing very expensive but &#8220;faster&#8221; service to those of Gavin Newson&#8217;s class is simply bonkers!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not timid,\u201d Newsom maintains.<\/p>\n<p>That is correct: He has been very active in answering to the needs of the mega wealthy, their business interests, foundations and &#8220;nonprofits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com.previewc40.carrierzone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Brown-rail.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-268\" src=\"http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com.previewc40.carrierzone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Brown-rail-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Brown-rail-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Brown-rail-768x432.jpg 768w, http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Brown-rail-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Brown-rail-624x351.jpg 624w, http:\/\/gavin-newsom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Brown-rail.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to a recent article on SFGATE, Gavin Newsom has &#8220;the support of 31 percent of registered voters.&#8221; This is hardly a mandate, as so many people neither register nor vote.
